Setting up an online store is not simple task. Traditionally, owners have to look for companies to help install and set up their online store; then they will have to add the products to their store one by one. The entire process can take from few weeks to months before they can start taking in orders.

Lucky for you, Yourowncart has taken care of all the dirty jobs. We have made e-commerce solutions readily available for everyone. Simply register and you will see your online store up and running. Just complete the simple 3 steps set up processes and you’re ready to receive your first order.

Check list:
- Activate your account
- Set up your store settings: default currency, payment and shipment options.
- Add new products to your store
- Customizing your store appearance (optional)

Independent Hosting is recommended for merchants with high visitors traffic.

An Independent Hosting account is similar to a regular web hosting account provided by any other web host providers elsewhere. In other words, you will be able to log in to your web hosting account and set up email accounts, new domains and even new websites to be hosted in the same account. You may also use the web hosting account as your web storage.

Independent hosting servers are verified and included as part of our Yourowncart network. Thus we could not allow the use of any other web hosting account you may previously own.

Upon successful upgrade, we would complete the set up for you.

What you need to know?

1. Synchronize Files

All changes made to your store settings and products detail will be automatically synchronized to your Independent Hosting account. In case of any failure to the synchronization process, you may manually launch the full synchronize process via the “Synchronize Files” button in your Dashboard. It is recommended to launch the full synchronize process at least once per week.

2. Image Manager on Independent Hosting

Your Independent Hosting account will host a copy of all the product images. If you find you have insufficient disk space or any of the images not cached properly, you may use the Image Manager to remove and reload the cache image. To access the Image Manager, go to http://yourstorefront.com/index.synchronizer.php?pcim=prune.

3. Check the monthly disk usage and bandwidth

You should receive an email containing your Independent Hosting account cPanel log-in details. You should log in to the hosting account to check on your monthly usage and make sure it does not exceed your account limits.

STEP 1: Enter customer details.
STEP 2: Verify customer & order details, and confirm order.

Upon successful checkout, an invoice number will be automatically generated. The invoice number and an URL to the online copy of the invoice will be displayed. At the same time, a copy of the invoice will be sent to the customer email address.

W.E.F 21st May 2012, the Merchant will not receive the email containing the invoice.
This is to minimize the possibilities of message being categorized as Spam message by major email service providers (such as Hotmail and Gmail).

If you wish to receive the invoice via email, you may change the settings at Settings > Operations > Checkout Options.

The Order Status changing function has been updated once again to better reflect the stock-on-hand of your products. Following is the detailed explanation on how the status would be updated.

Whenever the status of an order is updated, the Member Account Balance usage would be identified. If there is an approve utilization of Member Account Balance to pay for the order, the available amount from the Member’s Account would be verified.
- If balance is sufficient, amount would be deducted.
- If balance is insufficient, available amount would be deducted. You will be prompt to verify the payment manually.

Payment information will be updated to the order if available. The payment information can be provided when you update through the Order Details page.

Then the function would proceed to verify the stock control if the feature is turned on.
- Order is updated to “Cancelled” or order is updated from “New Order” to “Completed”, the stock quantity would be returned to the product.
- Order is updated from “Cancelled” to any other type of statuses, the stock quantity would be removed from the product stock-on-hand.

Next, the Member Account Points will be issued if the settings for automatic issue is turned on. Points issued would be calculated based on the rules set out in Member Account tool. The points would be issued once for each order regardless of the number of times the status changes.

Finally, the status would be updated and order history would be updated.

Export Order Details

You may export the order details of the orders in each status. Only a maximum number of 150 records would be exported each time. Please note that you must subscribe to the Order Update tool from the Toolbox for this feature.

Mass Email Form

You can also email contact all your customers in each status. Only a maximum number of 50 emails would be sent out each time. Please note that you must subscribe to the Email Form tool from the Toolbox for this feature.

You may have a few items in your store that are similar but vary in sizes/colours etc. It will be a hassle to add them to your inventory, create a product for each size. For such circumstances, our Product Parameters tool will be very useful. This tool will allow your customers to make the selection of the choices before adding to their shopping cart.

To be able to access the parameters of the products, you must subscribe to the ‘Product Parameters’ tool from the Toolbox.

To add additional product details:
1. Click on ‘Catalog’ tab.
2. Select a Category from the drop-down menu.
3. Click on ‘Additional Details’.
4. Under Parameters, click ‘Manage’.
5. ‘Add New Selection’ – Sizes/Design/Colours etc.
6. Value – S/M/L or Black/White/Grey etc.
7. Additional Charge: Optional – If the customer made this selection, this amount will be added on top of the usual price of the product.
8. Sort Order: The arrangement of the value in the selection. It is recommended to create the order in tens. In case there is a need to insert a new option, you will not need to amend the whole list.
9. Click on ‘Add Parameters’.

You should be able to select the parameters under your products page when you’re done!

Parameter Stock on Hand (SOH)

If this option is not activated for the product, you can continue to manage the total quantity of the product at Product Basic Details page.

Please note that you must enable the ‘Stock Level Control’ at Settings > Display > Product Options in order for this feature to work. If the stock control is not enabled, customers will be able to check out as long 1 of the values have valid quantity.

The member box will allow your customer to login to their account from your store. Members that have logged in will have their account information shown in the member box.

By default, the member box will looks like the one shown on the left.

If the member box did not appear at your store, most likely you have altered the template and have not included the required tags for the member box. Include the following coding in your template to display the default member box.
